President Joe Biden, who took office in the US on January 20, participated in the television program for CNN in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Answering the questions of Anderson Cooper in the program at Pabst Theater, Biden touched on many issues from the coronavirus to China, from vaccination to Donald Trump.
During a 2-hour phone call with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Biden said, “China is trying very hard to become a world leader. To have this, they have to gain the trust of other countries. But as long as they continue to violate human rights, this is very difficult for them to achieve. They know that this will also pay off” he said.
'HE IS GONE NOW'
President Biden, who stated that he wanted to close the page belonging to the Trump era, which was cleared of impeachment accusations, answered the question of Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi describing the Republicans who voted in favor of Trump as "cowards".
“Trump was on all the news for four years,” says Biden. I want to make sure that the American people will be in the news for the next four years. I'm tired of talking about Trump. He's gone now ”he said.
'TEACHERS SHOULD BE INSURED'
On a question about the safe opening of schools during the pandemic, Biden said that after the first 100 days on duty, many primary and secondary schools will be opened to provide education 5 days a week. Stating that teachers should be prioritized in vaccination, Biden said, “I think we should vaccinate teachers. We should put them first in the hierarchy” he said.
'CONTINUE TO WEAR A MASK'
Referring to the vaccination campaign in the country, Biden argued that they will reach a total of 600 million doses of vaccine by July and that they will ensure that anyone who wants to be vaccinated. Reminding that it will take time to recover from the effects of the virus that killed more than 485 thousand US citizens, Biden said that they will continue to wear masks and pay attention to the distance for months.
